F.A.Q.

1. Are there scholarships available if I come to Warner Pacific and ride for WPU Cycling?
Yes! Scholarships are available to team members based on academics-merit scholarships.

2. Do I need my own bike?
While most people prefer to use their own bikes, we are working on a plan to have a fleet of mountain bikes for students to use. Within WPU Cycling, there will be a growing number of cycling disciplines, even within mountain biking alone. That means that not all bikes work equally for each kind of riding.

3. What other equipment do I need?
Helmets are essential ... gloves, mountain bike shoes, knee pads, and more.

4. Do I need bike clothes?
Technically, no. But like any sport, there is sport-specific gear that makes activity and competition easier. Think basketball, volleyball, etc., and the uniforms worn in practice and competition. With that said, you can ride in a t-shirt and shorts if you'd like. It's all good!

5. What kind of biking experience do I need to have?
NONE! Seriously. Apart from knowing how to bike, we are open to people wanting to try this for the first time. At the same time, when it comes to race season and competition, there are skills and conditioning we will work on in training.

6. Why Warner Pacific University?
Warner Pacific is a small liberal arts university in Portland. Not only can you get a quality education at a school where you're known, but we have access to innumerable trails to ride on.
